- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 large yellow onion sliced
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- ¼ cup Holland House Red Cooking Wine
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 8 ounce wheel Brie cheese
In a medium skillet, melt butter over medium-low heat.
Add onion, brown sugar, and cooking wine and stir well to combine.
Cook over medium-low heat for 15-20 minutes, until onions are softened and caramelized. You want them still softened, not crispy - so be sure to keep your heat low.
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
Place wheel of brie on a parchment paper (or foil) lined baking sheet. Top with caramelized onions.
Bake in preheated oven for 10-12 minutes - until softened throughout.
Carefully transfer to serving plate.
