orange yogurt bread with orange cream cheese glaze

Moist orange flavored yogurt bread drizzled with an orange cream cheese glaze

Ingredients

for the bread:

  • ½ cup butter at room temperature
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • ¾ cup yogurt I used Stoneyfield Vanilla yogurt
  • ½ cup fresh orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest the zest from one medium orange
  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt

for the glaze:

  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • 2 tablespoon orange juice
  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 1 ½ cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray 9x5x3" loaf pan liberally with cooking spray and set aside.
  • In large bowl with electric mixer, cream together butter and sugar until creamy, about 2 minutes. Add eggs, one at a time, until completely mixed.
  • Add yogurt, orange juice, and orange zest and mix until combined.
  • In medium bowl combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Add to wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
  • Pour into prepared pan and bake in preheated oven for 55-65 minutes, until toothpick comes out clean.
  • Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to cooling rack to cool completely.
  • To make the glaze, beat zest, juice, cream cheese, and powdered sugar until smooth and creamy. Spread over cooled bread, slice, and enjoy!
