Now that our kitchen has been under renovation for a few weeks now, we are finally getting into the swing of cooking/eating/surviving without a full functioning kitchen. We put our temporary kitchen into our three-seasons porch for the time-being (before it gets too cold!) and it’s working out pretty well.
One aspect of the whole thing that I was worried about was how I was going to make coffee. As a mom of two boys, coffee gives me life and is a non-negotiable in my morning! Okay, and my afternoon.
It seemed like fate when I had the opportunity to work with Primo water and try out one of their in-home water dispensers. You might be wondering why a water dispenser makes my morning coffee easier. Good question! The hTRIO Bottom Loading Dispenser with Single Serve Coffee K-Cup® Machine Built In has a K-cup coffee brewer IN THE DISPENSER and brews hot or cold water on demand! How amazing is that?! And after using the hTRIO Dispenser to brew my coffee every morning now for a few weeks, I am hooked. I’m usually a 1-2 cup gal, so it’s not like I am brewing cup after cup of coffee. Also, I love that it comes with a K-cup that you can fill with your own ground coffee, making it much less wasteful. I’m all for convenience when it comes to the K-cups you can buy, but I also love the opportunity to be a little greener!
Even before our kitchen renovation, I was loving the Primo water dispenser, which we had in our mudroom. It was the perfect place for us to quickly fill up water bottles as we were on our way out the door. As a super active family, it’s really important to keep all of us hydrated and having the Primo water dispenser in a convenient spot ensured that we always had full bottles!
So how does the Primo in-home dispenser work? It’s simple! You take the empty 5-gallon bottle with you on your grocery store run and fill it in the store. Refill stations are commonly found at big-box retail stores like Walmart, Home Depot, Lowes, and you can find all of the stores that have Primo water refill stations at this link. I was amazed at how cost-effective it was to fill an entire 5-gallon bottle and Lars loved helping me fill it up. And get this – one 5-gallon Primo water bottle saves 1,100 single-use water bottles. Crazy, right?!
Here comes one of the best parts. It’s bottom loading, which means none of that scary “flip it over as fast as you can and hope it doesn’t spill” business. Loading and unloading the bottles are a breeze!
Lastly, what makes Primo water so great? Let me tell you – so many things! First, it goes through a multi-step purification process that includes reverse osmosis. The benefit of reverse osmosis is that a special membrane in reverse osmosis filters out many of the microscopic organisms and heavy metals that are present in drinking water. The Primo purification process also removes or significantly reduces the presence of chlorine and chlorine by-products, bacteria and parasites, heavy metals (including lead and mercury), trace levels of pharmaceuticals and many more contaminants. Hallelujah.
Okay, now about this creamer for my coffee! I love flavored coffee creamer, but I’m not a fan of most store-bought brands and the ingredients that are in them. I started making my own creamer and have been loving it!
This Healthy Maple Cinnamon Coffee Creamer has only three ingredients and is made in a blender. It’s SUPER simple! The base of this creamer is coconut milk, and it is sweetened with just a bit of maple syrup and then a dash of cinnamon.
So now I make a batch of my coffee creamer for the week, push ONE BUTTON for my coffee, and mornings have never been easier!
