Come back an hour later and the Instant Pot beef will be absolutely fork tender. We love serving the shredded beef on buns, but it would also be delicious with mashed potatoes.
Oh man, I am reallllllly dragging tonight, so I’m going to make this post short and sweet. Well, savory. But you know what I mean.
Soren got up at 5 this morning, which is pretty typical of him, but then he didn’t go back to sleep, which is definitely atypical. His usual schedule is to sleep from 7 p.m.-5 a.m. then he wakes up, feeds, and goes back to bed until 6:30/7 a.m. I could do without that 5 a.m. feeding but it’s fine for now. Except, yeah. Today he didn’t go back to sleep.
Easy Instant Pot Beef
Are you ready for the easiest Instant Pot recipe EVER?! I mean, I know they’re all pretty simple but seriously, this Instant Pot Italian Beef is a no brainer and only has FOUR ingredients. Seriously an easy recipe!
How to Make Instant Pot Italian Beef
You might laugh at how easy it is. You just throw a hunk of beef, some Italian dressing mix, beef broth and pepperoncini peppers in the Instant Pot and let it do it’s thang.
Once the Italian beef in the Instant Pot is fork tender after about an hour, you just shred it up and load it onto some toasted hoagies and top it with cheese. We also like to spoon some of the juices on top for an little extra oomph in our Instant Pot Italian Beef Sandwiches. You could even put some in a little side dish to dip it in. SO good!
Can This Be a Freezer Meal?
Definitely! To make this Instant Pot beef into a freezer, meal I would simply put the beef, Italian dressing mix, pepperocini peppers, and beef broth into a freezer bag. When you’re ready to cook, simply take it out of the freezer the night before to let it thaw in the refrigerator, and then follow the remaining instructions.
We will definitely be putting this Instant Pot Italian Beef on our regular rotation this fall and winter! I’m actually thinking of making it into a freezer meal, because why the heck not!?

Instant Pot Pot Roast from The Salty Marshmallow
Instant Pot Italian Beef
- 4-5 lb beef chuck roast
- 1 packet dry Italian dressing mix
- 16 ounce jar pepperocini rings
- 1 cup beef broth
- Provolone cheese slices
- Hoagie buns
- Place beef in Instant Pot.
- Top with Italian dressing mix, 1 cup of pepperocini rings, and beef broth.
- Set on high for 1 hour.
- Let pressure naturally release for 10 minutes, then release it the rest of the way.
- Preheat the broiler.
- Shred the beef with two forks.
- Place hoagie roll bottoms on a baking sheet.
- Pile the beef on the hoagie buns, spoon a couple tablespoons of the broth over the beef and top with provolone cheese.
- Broil cheese until melted.
- Top with remaining pepperocini rings and hoagie bun top.
- Serve and enjoy!
