Greek Yogurt Honey Mustard Dressing

If I had to pick one go-to salad dressing, it would be honey mustard. I love that it's creamy and tangy all at the same time. It's my go-to spread for a sandwich or sub, I love it on a fresh greens salad, and I also love dipping chicken nuggets in it!

The problem is, honey mustard dressings typically tend to be pretty high in sugar. Especially the ones that you would buy at a store or find at a restaurant. To solve this, I made quite a few batches of homemade honey mustard dressing to end up with this delicious Honey Mustard Greek Yogurt Dressing!

Ingredients in Honey Mustard Greek Yogurt Dressing

The ingredients in this Greek Yogurt dressing are very simple and I usually have most of them in my pantry and fridge.

Plain Whole Milk Greek Yogurt - I always use whole milk Greek Yogurt, as it's creamier than non-fat. Greek Yogurt is the base in this dressing, so you want it as creamy as possible! Greek Yogurt adds protein and probiotics to this delicious dressing.

Honey - of course a honey mustard dressing needs honey! This adds sweetness and honey flavor to this dressing.

Dijon Mustard - dijon is adds that mustard flavor to this salad dressing. Dijon mustard is more mild than brown mustard, but still lends its tangy flavor.

Paprika - paprika is made from red bell peppers, and adds a sweetness and pepper-y flavor. I used regular sweet paprika but if you want a bit of spice, add hot paprika and if you want a smoky flavor, add smoked paprika.

Onion Powder - I use onion powder in this recipe to get the flavor of onion without any change in the consistency of the dressing.

How to Make Honey Mustard Greek Yogurt Dressing

It really could not be easier to make this greek yogurt dressing. .

Combine the ingredients. In a medium bowl, combine the ingredients in a small bowl or jar, and whisk until well combined. This isn't one of those salad dressing recipes that you can shake to combine, because of the heavier ingredients like the yogurt and honey. So, you'll definitely want to stir them together with a spoon or fork.

Taste test. Once it's stirred together, give the salad dressing a taste test and add salt and black pepper, to taste.

Storage. Store this Greek Yogurt salad dressing in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks. I like to store mine in a mason jar.

This homemade honey mustard is delicious on a simple green salad, as a chicken marinade, a dip for veggies, or a chicken nugget dipping sauce! Hey - I have kids. Of course we eat chicken nuggets!

Greek Yogurt Dressing Variations and Tips

Swap the Greek Yogurt - If you don't have Greek Yogurt, there are some options for swaps. You could use sour cream, mayonnaise, or plain (non-greek) yogurt. The texture will be slightly changed if you make these swaps, but it will still taste delicious.

Add garlic. I didn't add garlic powder in my original recipe, but I think adding ½ teaspoon of garlic powder would be delicious.

Add some fresh herbs. If you have fresh herbs on hand, you could make some delicious variations of honey mustard dressing. I think fresh dill, fresh basil, chives, and fresh thyme would all be delicious.

  1. Made as written but added small amount of Yellow mustard, a bit of oregano and a shake of granulated garlic. Served it over seeded cucumber and tomato salad. Will definitely use again. Enjoyed it with a glass of Sauve Blanc.
