Nine times out of ten, when I am faced with the decision of what alcoholic beverage I would like to drink(tough life decisions), it is wine or beer. To me, the world of wine and beer is overwhelming enough, and then to throw liquor drinks in there? That’s just too much for me, usually. Every once in awhile, though, I like a good, strong cocktail. So when Kahlúa contacted me about doing a series of posts featuring cocktails and recipes made with their product, I jumped at the challenge.
To kick things off, they sent me a bottle of their new Kahlúa Pumpkin Spice which, yes, is absolutely as good as it sounds. And if the number of pumpkin spice latte loving folks out there on Instagram and facebook is any indicator (I’m looking at everyone who has ever used the hashtag #PSL), you are all going to love the new Kahlúa Pumpkin Spice too. Think coffee liqueur plus pumpkin spice. You cannot go wrong with that, am I right?!
When concocting this Kahlúa Pumpkin Spiced cocktail, I wanted to capture the essence of pumpkin pie in a cocktail. I also didn’t want it to be a sissy girly drink. I wanted it to warm me up on a chilly day! So to the Kahlúa Pumpkin Spiced I added cinnamon creme liqueur, also known as horchata with rum to give it the creamy and cinnamon-spice flavor I was looking for. Then I added caramel vodka to really kick this cocktail up a notch while also adding the flavor of caramel. To round out the cocktail I added a splash of half-and-half. Pure bliss.
All together, this was one tasty cocktail and it will warm you right up! With the graham cracker crumb lined rim, I seriously felt like I was drinking pumpkin pie which could never be a bad thing, I’m convinced. This would be a really fun cocktail to serve at a fall dinner party, a Thanksgiving, or even a girls night in.

- 2 parts Kahlúa Pumpkin Spice
- 1 part cinnamon cream liqueur or horchata with rum
- 1 part caramel vodka
- 1 part half-and-half milk or cream
- graham cracker crumbs
- Place graham cracker crumbs in a shallow bowl.
- Dip rim of cocktail glass in water and then dip in graham cracker crumbs to line the rime of the glass.
- Combine Kahlúa Pumpkin Spice, cinnamon cream liqueur, caramel vodka, and milk in cocktail shaker and shake for 1 minute.
- Pour into cocktail glass.
