A super quick and easy homemade Berry Cream Cheese Spread for topping bagels!
When it comes to breakfasts, we definitely go through phases in our household. For a few weeks we’ll be all about the overnight oats and smoothies. Then we’ll switch to avocado toast and fried eggs. Then it’s oatmeal. And then it’s hash browns and scrambled eggs. After that, we’ll switch again to English muffins and bagels. As you can see, breakfast is a vicious and ever-changing cycle over here at the Ellingson household.
I’m kidding. Kind of.
When we’re on our bagel kick, Marc usually prefers a more savory Everything bagel with plain cream cheese while I like a whole grain bagel with a sweeter cream cheese. Sometimes it’s honey-walnut but most of the time I like the Berry Cream Cheese Spread. Naturally, I wanted to make it myself.
Of course now that I’ve made my own, it will be hard to ever go back to the store-bought. I combined GO VEGGIE Cream Cheese with fresh berries, lemon zest, and honey, making it naturally sweetened.
And since I used GO VEGGIE Cream Cheese, this recipe is vegan, non-GMO, lactose, gluten, and cholesterol free, and 25% lower in saturated fat than regular cream cheese. It’s actually made with coconut, which I love. It’s a great healthy option for breakfast!
