Baby E Update: week 18

photo-19

Woah!  Have two weeks really gone by since my last baby update?  I'm really hoping this entire pregnancy doesn't keep flying by.  Lots of fun new things have happened in the past couple of weeks - and there may or may not be a gender reveal in this update 😉

How far along are you? 18 weeks, 1 day

Cravings: Still craving hot sauce, but other than that the intense cravings for burgers have mellowed down.  Although, I wouldn't turn one down.  I just don't NEED one every other day.  I also had a really dire need for Cheddar Sun Chips last week and I think I impressed Marc with my ability to down half the bag.   On that same note, I feel like I've been eating like a football player because I'm ravenous all the time.  Must be growing like a bean in there! Oh!  And I finally had an intense sweet craving for chocolate cake.  I absolutely NEEDED a super rich chocolate cake with chocolate frosting, and I solved that problem by baking one this weekend.

Food Aversions:  Nope, nothing really.  However, some foods just don't sound appetizing.  This week I haven't really been interested in apples, granola, or smoothies.  It's not that they make me sick thinking about them, I just have no interest in eating them.

Weight Gain: Still around 9 pounds.

Fears: That this pregnancy is going to fly by!  Although I'm pretty excited about the end result.

Generally Feeling: Like peeing is taking over my life.  I go to the bathroom pretty much in between each patient I see (so every 30-60 minutes) and have a hard time finishing a run.  My back and hip pain are still there, though mostly mild.  My Bump Nest Pregnancy Pillow is a life saver!

Looking Forward To:  Starting the nursery.  So far we have the crib, the rocking chair, and the changing table/dresser thanks to my incredibly gracious dad and stepmom and we are SO excited to get it all together!!  We have a theme picked out and I've ordered a few things so things should start coming together soon.  It's funny because two weeks ago the nursery was the last thing I cared about and now I'm really excited to start decorating.

Miss anything: My favorite pair of jeans and not having to worry about my boobs falling out of my tank tops during yoga.

Movement: Yes!  I feel the baby moving around quite a bit this week.  At first it was mostly at night when I was sitting down after dinner, but I even started feeling him at work the past couple of days.  SO fun!

What I’ve Been Loving: All of the movement I've been feeling is definitely a highlight, as is actually looking pregnant.  I feel like I'm past that awkward "Is she or isn't she?" phase and really look like there's something other than cookies and burgers in my belly.  A couple of my patients even came out and asked me if I was pregnant this week, which I thought was pretty bold but confirmed my thoughts on my bump.  I've also been loving prenatal yoga classes.  It's fun to connect with other mama-to-be's and also bond with my bump and baby.  Body changes can be tough during pregnancy (ummm hello curves and lumps I never knew existed!) but I really love that my body is doing what it needs to do to grow our little guy in there.

Maternity Clothes:  Yep.  I've also been wearing a lot of leggings and long sweaters or dresses to work, which seems to be working well.  I'm trying not to go overboard with the maternity clothes, but it's hard when you just feel frumpy in your old clothes!  I also found a couple of awesome pieces at a consignment shop last week that I was excited about.

Boy or Girl:  If you haven't picked it up from the rest of the questions....it's a BOY!!  Lots of you guessed it right from the very first pregnancy update...I'm thinking from all of the savory cravings I've had.  I also just had a feeling it was a boy from the beginning so we were so excited when we found out!!
