strawberry banana spinach smoothie

I have a new obsession and it’s name is strawberry banana spinach smoothie.  Okay, actually I’ve only made it twice but it’s been two days in a row and I see this becoming my new thing.  There’s just too much to love about this smoothie:

1. Most importantly, it’s delicious.
2. Also importance is convenience, and it’s super quick and easy to make
3. It’s filling…which is also very, very important to me
4. It’s nutritional value – it’s chock full of good-for-ya things!
5. It takes care of my “buy a bag of spinach every week and let it rot in the produce drawer” problem that I have.

Yep, I see this becoming a long-term obsession.

  1. I make the exact same smoothie, but sometimes omit the Greek yogurt for a scoop of protein powder or peanut butter instead. I love how I can get my greens in so easily with it!

  2. This sounds so good! I also have a serious problem of buying a bag of spinach and letting it go bad in my fridge like every week! I am definitely going to have to try this, especially since I have all the ingredients :-)

  3. How interesting! I have never been much of a smoothie fan, but always have spinach on hand. This is tempting.

  4. OOhh!!! I have that spinach problem!! I buy them thinking I’m going to make wonderful salads, but I really don’t like making salads, then when it come to dinner time I just cut up fruit. Hence… the bag of spinach gets tossed a week later. If I had invested all the money for bags of spinach that I’ve thrown away I’d be rich!!
So the smoothie… it all sounds good, but I’m not so sure about the spinach… I don’t know if I can get that one by my kids, but I think I’m going to try!

  5. I don’t have the “spinach going bad” problem. I eat it like 2 times a day and I run out every week!!! My problem is that, while I absolutely LOVE smoothies and I have many recipes that I love to tweak – I really do not like bananas in my smoothies. I think I’ll have to use some berries instead, which will probably be tasty :)
